Taxi drivers, represented by Pavia e Ansaldo, Block Uber Pop

Milan, 28 May 2015 – Attorneys Marco Giustiniani, Nico Moravia and Giovanni Gigliotti of Pavia e Ansaldo, together with Alessandro Fabbi represented the labor unions, local and national associations of taxi drivers as well as the principal Italian radio taxi operators in the legal proceedings which ordered the block of UBER POP services throughout Italy.

The Milan Tribunal granted the provisional remedy of injunction against UBER, a multinational corporation, acknowledging that its operation constitutes the rendering of taxi services without a license, and therefore injoined the continuation of unfair competition. To guarantee the protection of taxi service, the Court further ordered the payment of a 20,000 Euro penalty for each day of delay in the suspension of UBER POP services, the black out of its APP as well as the publication of the decision on the web site of the company. The order of the Milan Court is the Italian chapter of the conflict which for several months exists between taxi drivers and the Uber group in most of European and extra European countries.
