Since 2014 our Africa desk has been advising international institutions and Italian and foreign clients on investment projects in the African continent.

It focuses mainly on setting up and providing assistance to supranational funds; advising multilateral agencies and creating guarantee facilities for easier participation by government bodies; international commercial contracts for import/export companies, tenders, joint ventures, infrastructure, energy and rural electricity networks for companies involved in the planning and construction of major projects on a global level.

The Africa Desk is composed of experts with many years’ experience of working in the Continent.

The Pavia e Ansaldo Africa Desk was recently involved, on behalf of the European Union, in identifying credit enhancements to facilitate financing of infrastructure in East Africa. The team is also conducting a study into revising local legislation with a view to developing cooperative and microcredit models of financing.

As additional support, in the spirit of solidarity which is an integral part of the culture of our firm, the desk also advises African national authorities on identifying and developing the investment potential of their respective countries, and liaises between them and interested entrepreneurs.

Head of the Africa Desk is Pavia e Ansaldo partner Mario Di Giulio.
